Hotel Help in London

My husband and I will be visiting London in March. We are looking for a hotel rate of around 80GBP, double room with en-suite shower and w/c. Any suggestions for a clean hotel would be appreciated! Has anyone ever stayed at either the WINDERMERE HOTEL or MELITA HOUSE HOTEL???? We are looking around the Victoria Station area. Thanks Much!
-Josie

Check out londontown.com and lastminute.com. I've seen 60GBP rates for Millenium chain hotels. There are plenty of other listings on these sites.

Josie
Also look for current discounted hotel rates at orbitz.com--there are lots of bargains to be had there.
I got a low rate from Orbitz and then contacted the hotel directly to ask if they would honor that rate if I booked directly with them. They did.

We booked the Millennium Bailey's through www.londontown.com for 60 pounds plus VAT last October. We were very pleased with the hotel--- great location. Londontown.com was easy!

Hi Josie...I stayed at the Windermere on my first trip to London and I liked it very much...it's owned by a very nice couple...my room was on the top floor and it was very nicely decorated and had a newly renovated bathroom with plenty of hot water and great water pressure...the room was not big, but since you're out most of the day and evening it really doesn't matter...the price included a made to order full English breakfast which was great because it kept me going most of the day...it's served in a nice breakfast room that is a restaurant and bar in the evening that's open to everyone...there's a cozy room in the lobby where you can read newspapers and magazines...rooms do have cable tv though...the neighborhood was fine, felt safe...walk to Victoria Station was about 5 minutes...right outside the station is a place called Caffe Italia which became a favorite because it's always open...really good coffee, cakes, pastries, tea of course, and even the pasta dishes were good...you can also walk to Buckingham Palace...all in all it was a very good place to stay at a very reasonable rate...I recommend it.

It is the Melia White House hotel located near Regent's Park. It is not anywhere near Victoria station, but is a very nice hotel, owned by the Spanish chain Melia. Classy hotel, close to underground station, nice rooms. Regent's park is north of central London but still very close in. I don't think you can get it for 80 pounds a night however, unless you get a real deal
