Hotel Grande Bretagne

I'd like someone's experience of this property as I've only had opinions of the old hotel or starwoods own description.

Thank you in advance!

Are you the same person who recently told us that you got a room there for some ridiculously low rate around Christmas time wasn't it? If that was somebody else I apologize in advance.

Hi M_Kingdom,

First of all you are on the Turkish section of forum. Grande Bretagne is in Greece. Its at the hearth of Athens. Renovated recentlyi very posh and glittering place. I have visited that hotel recently. After renovation it looks superb if you like old fashion looking luxuary.

Regards,

Murat

This thread has no less than 23 responses on it. You've also posted 3 or 4 other threads asking about this hotel. What more are you looking for?

FYI, there is no "Turkish section" of this board. Selecting a country is merely a way of sorting the posts which ALL appear on the general Europe board. Which is why it is extremely helpful to include the city name, preferably in the *title* of one's post.

Lesli, I believe there is a Turkish section, since you can choose from the forum pgaes of Europe. This is where I enter anyways....But I aggree if one writes city name on top would be more helpful.

I'm looking for info on the service, quality of rooms including aspects such as the bathrooms, also what are the menus like in the restaurant, cocktails in the bar etc. Not just what it looks like - it's no good having the body of a ferrari sitting in your garage with a ford engine inside!

For those of you being pedantic as you are all aware it is in Athens!

Thank you for your input and feedback, however limited its content may be,

Well, to my understanding the hotel is very well maintained, rooms and bathrooms looked really nice as well as the general interior. Had not eaten there. Even its Athens some brands will not make a big mistake do not worry.

However write to Mr. Vonglis at Sales and Marketing to ask some info on menus he might even send you a copy.

In general I had good experience at Greek Hotels and in Greece.

I would not mind to have a ferrari body with ford engine in it. Its would be something special anyways
