Hotel Empress Zoe - Istanbul

I'm hoping you can advise me. I've been reading wonderful things about the Empress Zoe, and it really looks like our kind of place. But I've also heard about the nearby construction of another hotel - from one picture it appears to be blocking views of the Blue Mosque - and am worried about the noise and general impact on what seems like an otherwise charming neighborhood. Can you tell me what to expect?

Also, how hot will it be at the start of August? Is this a good choice for summer? Thanks!

Check weather forecasts at sites like www.wunderground.com.
I imagine certainly in the upper 80s and 90s F.

I am going in April, but I imagine all of Sultanahmet to be noisy. Maybe someone can advise you about the constructions.

I think that the Empress Zoe itself is under construction, but check previous posts. We visited Istanbul in late July last year, and temps were in the low to high 90s for most of our stay. If you don't bear up well under heat, I'd advise visiting at a different time of year.

I was going to book Empress Zoe for our upcoming trip in April but decided not to because the suite that was available was being blocked by the construction at the Hilton (I believe) next door and I read enough to know that there would be some noise from the work. The room was expensive and I asked if they could givem me a better price on account of the construction but the answer was no. From my searches it seems that this construction has been going on for quite some time. Maybe by August it will be complete.
