Yep, I had a hospital bill in France recently, which I received once I returned home. I paid by bank transfer, cost was Euro75 for the transfer. Somehow it ended up being short by 6 euro. When I explained to the hospital that it would cost me 75 euro to pay 6 euro, they said too bad! You still owe us. So I hope I don't get arrested next time I go to France.

US banks charge lots for that transfer. I used to run into it commercially when dealing with USA and never had a problem in Europe.

This waiting for an update/clarification is like losing the wifi connection just before the end of a movie you're streaming.

I just told my husband the backstory, and while he always scoffs about my trip reports and my interest in travel social media, his immediate reaction was, "Well, THAT does not make sense! So what happened?"

Perhaps the OP does not yet have an update to share. This thread was only started a week ago. And in that time, was a major US holiday. Not sure where OP is located, but could also be busy with Thanksgiving festivities.
