Airbnb is a private company at this time, so it's difficult to verify all of its financials. However, the Wall Street Journal reported a $200M profit for airbnb in 2018. They reportedly lost $322M in the first nine months of 2019, but most of that was related to possible new one-time expenses (heavier than normal marketing to get numbers up for a then-planned public offering, new security measures and an enhanced software platform). I think, before coronavirus, most analysts viewed them as a very good investment, with some profitability well before companies like Amazon. This virus has changed the landscape for all travel-related companies, but I think cruise ships are threatened more than airbnb. ×

Airbnb is asking host to open up in cities for all the nurses and Doctors coming into the area. NYC for example. They are trying to find places for everyone to stay plus people are leaving cities to escape and airbnb is providing a place to stay since hotels are closed.

Onefinestay is doing the same in London; offering properties to nurses and doctors for free.

So the people who are some of the causes of homelessness are working to help the homeless.......

A bit like Star$s offering free cups of coffee to UK health workers to compensate for not paying for the health service by dodging the tax

People who have second homes in London, are offering them to doctors and nurses who live far away from their workplaces. For free, with cleaning service.
What is wrong about that?
