Honk! We have United award tickets for travel Chicago-Nice - leaving two weeks from yesterday (not soon enough!). We ticketed these about eight months out; no real issues with getting the dates we wanted at that point.

HONK,HONK, this lady is very happy. I am using AA FF miles for a Business Class open jaw ticket for Rome and Paris.
I will land in Rome the 28th August and depart from Paris the 26 Sept.

I traveled various times in Business class National, but never for overseas trips.
It will be a nice experience and I am looking forward it.
Thanks AA..

Honk-Honk!!

Six members of our family will be using FF miles to go Bermuda this summer (I know, you asked about EUROPE!). Then hubby and I will be using FF miles to go to Paris (business class - woo-hoo) for New Years. All courtesy of AAdvantage.

More of a Beep than a Honk as I just used miles to upgrade to Business on my annual London jaunt on AA. Very well worth it. Good customer service from booking, check-in, Admiral's Club & flight crew.

We're going to Greece courtesy of American in October. I only planned 6 months ahead for this one. Three of us went to Europe in July 2003, two of us in Sept. 2005, both courtesy of Delta, but planned 10 months ahead. We also went in 2000 on American miles. Those are just the free European flights. We've had several others also. HONK! HONK!

You all make me envious !!! It's not easy to collect miles here in Europe. My friend Alina travels for his work around 8 times a month and, in a year, still doesn't have miles to go from Edinburgh to London

Freaking unbelievable! So many repliess when usually all we hear are whiners complaining that they can't use their miles.

Meanwhile, a lame "beep" for my parents. CO standard coach award open jaw IAH-LGW late June and EDI-IAH mid-July. Narrowbody trans-Atantic travel both ways, but it's still possible.

Half a beep, I guess: we just accumulated enough FF miles to make it to Europe NEXT summer, but it will be our third FF trip to Europe in about 5 years, plus we did PIT to Phoenix last November. My cousin very kindly flew me to Florida for Easter on her SW bonus.

Love to fly for free, but it is so hard when you don't fly for business.

I am so glad to hear about all the successes here; I've never had that much trouble, but we shall see this year... who knows?

I'm pretty flexible, but prefer France or Italy. Last free trip to Italy, we had to go through Frankfurt to Milan, but it was worth it. Had a ball in Bellagio, then flew down to Positano to meet friends. A lot of flying on that one!

Congrats everyone, and I wish your luck for me and others.

Honk! I was hunting a Delta award ticket using Virgin Atlantic from small Gainesville Florida to Heathrow. The trick was trying to match up my seats via IAD to travel with family. I called daily, (multiple times) checking availability and got an upper class seat (first class). I called when they opened, and even became friendly with the agents after a while of constant calling.

At first, I made the best connections I could and ticketed my ticket. Than as I checked everyday and finally found what I wanted, I locked in and reticketed. It cost $50 for the change fee. Fees were about $110.00. You only pay the fifty if you ticket, no matter how many times you changed the itinerary.

Now whats the secret?? you ask?? Virgin is no longer a partner of Delta. If I would have paid for the seat..directly, it would cost $9500.00. + Yes, I paid dearly to get the points mostly with the Delta FF Amex..but 90K points, I think I struck gold. Your chair goes all the way down, and they even give you sheets and PJ's...and they even have a massage therapist..

Happy travels!

We booked three FF tickets from LAX to Heathrow and purchased the fourth ticket. Twenty seven glorious days in Europe, leaving July 4th!

Honk-flying United out of San Francisco to Frankfurt, then Lufthansa to Nice. The next 26 days will be driving in Italy.
Leaving from Roma to Frankfurt to San Francisco. Booked this trip on mileage/business class approx 330 days in advance.
We have been flying to Europe every year since 1980, yet, we are as excited about this trip as we were in 1980.
