Honeymoon on the Amalfi Coast?

I am planning my honeymoon for October and have ruled out most of the Caribbean for fear of hurricanes. We are lucky enough to have already been to Maui and would like to try someplace different. Positano and Capri have both been recommended as beautiful and romantic spots. Any tips? I'd love suggestions on other spots as well. We are open for all sorts of ideas. Thanks.

I would choose Positano. More interesting places to explore along the Amalfi Coast and you can go to Sorrento as well. Congrats.

carrie i may suggest another city to stay in. try sorrento instead. its a larger place than positano and has much easier access to the other area attractions-ie naples, vesuvio and you can easily do day trips to positano and amalfi and ravello. there are good hotels and many good places to eat in sorrento. good luck

Thanks for the tips. I'd love to hear about any other places in Italy or in other parts of the world that anyone would recommend for a great honeymoon experience.

Might I suggest the lovely little town of Sulzano by Lago d'Iseo? There is a lovely island in the middle of the lake called Monte Isola which is a great place for a picnic. The town of Palazzlo is a short drive away.

Positano and Capri are both great places for a honeymoon. Sorrento is convenient to both. Depending on how much time you have, and how much exploring you want to do, maybe you could divide your time. Assuming you have a week, you could spend 3 nights on Capri and then the rest of the time staying in Positano or Sorrento and visiting the attractions in the area. Keep in mind however, that in October it may be too cool to go swimming at the beach, if that's something important to you. But the weather is still mild and these touristy areas will not be as crowded as during spring and summer months.

Might be too cold for a swim. But how about soaking in a or several thermal spa in Ischia. If you can find one just for the 2 of you would be the best.
