honeymoon in tuscany

We will be speding five nights in tuscany during our honeymoon. Right now we are considering staying at Paggeria Medicea in Artimino, Palazzao Mannaioni in Montaione, or Castelletto de Montebenichi.

Any opinions on these three, or suggestions for similar places? We also considered Castello Spaltenna, but they are booked for the dates we want.

Ed, Locanda Amorosa in Sinalunga would be my choice. Search under that name and you will find it. Good luck !

Ed:
We stayed at Il Falconiere outside of Cortona last summer and it was wonderful. We ate a delicious dinner at Locanda Amorosa and thought that it looked fabulous but did not get to see any of the rooms. Either of these places would be very romantic for a honeymoon. Hope that you have a fabulous trip.

I greatly appreciate everybody's suggestions. I am still curious whether anyone has first-hand experience with the three places I mentioned. Thanks.

Ed, I had a client that liked the place in Montaione. I find the location to be a bit too far NW to suit me. Location should be your first criteria for any Tuscany trip. I have no knowledge of the other two places and I know Tuscany well. What is your plan? I assume you will be driving. Tuscany is a big place and is hard to cover from only one location. There are dozens of really good places to stay--keep an open mind.

Bob -- we will have three days and nights for "driving around" in Tuscany, followed by two nights in Florence. We hope to hit Siena, San Gimignano and Lucca, and maybe some small Chianti towns along the way. That's why I think Montaione is a better location for us than Sinalunga.

I realize that we could theoretically spend our entire 2 weeks in tuscany, but we have decided to start out with 3 nights in venice and finish off with 5 nights in Rome.
Try www.hotelapartments.com and ask specifically for Tuscany.
