hi everyone, thanks for a grt travel site. <BR>how about a new subject, WHATS THE SILLIEST BLOOB YOU HAVE MADE WHEN TRAVELLING ??? <BR>i for one turned up at toronto airport one day early last yr, ooops! <BR>i went to an embassy in kabul , afghanistan many yrs ago to get an exit visa for afghanistan, they didnt understand me at all, then i finally worked out that i was in the iranian embassy,boy was my face red !! <BR>i,m sure you must have some good ones to share. look forward to it ,cheers lorrie <BR>

I'm unfamiliar with the word "BLOOB". Please explain.

I would assume BLOOB is another word for what we call "Blooper" here in the states. <BR>I think Lorrie's address is New Zealand. <BR>Nancy

This thread had so much potential -- who let it die?

My silliest holiday boob was getting everyone in my group off the train at the wrong station, when we had only 10 minutes to so to catch our connecting train even if we *had* been in the right station. Found myself and my travelling companions stranded in a suburban train station in an industrial town in southern Poland. Nobody there spoke any English and we had no phrase book or dictionary -- so finding our way to our ultimate destination proved quite a challenge

Worse still, because I was part of such a noisy group, we were followed off the train by a random American who assumed that we must know where we were going. He wasn't one bit too pleased to find himself stranded as well, I can tell you!!

Anyone else got any stories?
