Did they say the name in the show? I was assuming it was a variation on goulash, with just a bunch of tabasco added to mess it up! My Hungarian Cookery section of the Encyclopedia of Cookery has a recipe for Goulash that is basically a well-paprikad (the spicy kind) beef stew with onion and potato. I'll be curious to see any other answers you receive!

OMG, Clifton! You're right! We all must have blocked it out... I do not believe that could have been real blood. Just how low can you go for a CHANCE at winning some cash. What was the point? It's become so childish.

So, who else was excited to see Corsica on last night's episode?
And cheered loudly when Jonathan and Victoria got their 'try again', and got stuck at the roadblock?

Jonathan seemed to be almost on his best behavior last night, or maybe the editing criteria changed! I enjoyed watching Hayden struggle, although Aaron doesn't seem like a bad guy. I was disappointed that they weren't eliminated.

Abby: I thought Corsica looked very interesting. Have actually been interested in it, as well as Sardinia for some time now and even more interested after last night's show.

Yes it was fun to see the "charming pair" foiled at the first buoy, however, they always seem to come through even though I'm cheering for them to come in last, and in the last two episodes it looked like they might. Of course, since last night was not an elimination round, they would have stayed on even if they came in last. THERE'S NO JUSTICE!

Last night's show also piqued my interest in Corsica. I hope we see more mention of it on Fodor's now!

The only reason Jonathan seemed a bit milder was because their falling behind was down to him and his grape stomping. But he still kept telling Victoria she is "useless". And the host's face when they turned up on the mat! Phil obviously doesn't like the guy.

I've come to the conclusion that Jonathan and Victoria are a match made in "heaven". My favorite part was "hell boy" bobbing around in the water in his diving suit!!! That was just too too funny. I don't think those poor guys tring to help him knew whether to laugh or cry. I think I detected corners or mouths turning up but they were trying to keep it under control.

"My favorite part was "hell boy" bobbing around in the water in his diving suit!!!"

Comedy gold! My favorite moment of the season!

I keep watching this show, even though I find virtually everyone on it this season to be objectionable. I hope they do a better job of casting next season.

BTW, has anyone else taken a look at the contestant application? Ms. Go and I did a couple years ago, and WOW is that an intrusive questionnaire...

The only couple I like is Kris and Jon.
They actually seem to be having FUN in this game. I think Jonathan should be hung by his toenails and convicted of verbal abuse! But he has been much "nicer, if that's possible" the last episode. I think CBS may have told him to tone down the abuse a bit and no pushing your partner. Why do these women put up with that crap!!!

Johnathing didn't engage in any physical assault on camera this time but he still told his partner (who is hateful too) that she was useless and called her a moron.

I can't believe they put potential contestants through such a grilling yet they still ended up with this bunch.

Also, it seems like it's become less and less of a "race" - so much waiting for places to open and less actual travelling.

What's been amazing me every episode is the clothing that some of these women run around in.

Usually it's the toddler sized little stretchy camisole tops - with their "assets" barely hanging on to basic decency.

Last night my jaw dropped to see Hayden - I think she was attired in another little camisole top, midriff bared, wearing really short, tight biker shorts. All I could wonder is if she thought she was at Gold's Gym or something.

I know those backpacks don't hold much - but jeez.

For some reason every week I watch the show and read this thread, but forget to post. I am usually giggling and agreeing with all the comments though!

"Hell Boy" was hilarious!!! My daughter and I were laughing so hard we had tears streaming down our faces! I told her that the people trying to help them were probably doubled over laughing too.

If Johnathon and Victoria have to stick around, why can't they come in last, have it be a nonelimination round and then we would get to see them try to fend for money. Somehow I don't think many people would donate to them.

I like the long distance dating couple...John and Kris. At the airline counter when they met a snag they were not mean at all. Evem though they were frustrated they kept saying please and trying to work nicely with the people.

I will say that one good thing from the show is that when the contestants are showing their nasty sides, I take the opportunity to reinforce to the kids that they should never speak to another person like that and they should never let another person speak to them in that manner.

It's the screaming at one another that is really getting to me. That seemed to be all that came through last night - screeching voices. This group is just so sad, that even Corsica, which was absolutely lovely, lost it's appeal with the verbal graffiti.

At the conclusion we should all take turns abusing Jonathan (in person... if only)!

Just like mms, I often read this thread but don't add my two cents - I feel everyone has pretty much covered the problems.

But I still enjoy watching the program just to see the sights. And I agree that Corsica was really beautiful. I've been trying to talk my husband into a hiking trip there with Sherpa. After Tuesday's show, he is completely on board now.

By the way, not only was it a relief to have a humorous moment with Adam bobbing in the water - there have been way way too few fun moments like that - but I was so impressed with the people helping him. They were so nice. Such a welcome change from the contestants. And such a contrast to his partner, Rebecca. They were so sympathetic and supportive.

This really made me more determined to visit Corsica.

I'm guessing that the people helping Adam and Rebeccca were certified scuba diving professionals (e.g. instructors and/or dive masters). In my limited experience, many instructors and dive masters are trained to be calm, helpful, reassuring, protective, etc. The fellow who was talking to Adam just before he went down again - asking him if he wanted to take a break and encouraging him to relax - was behaving just like a DM or Instructor. His priority concern was the safety and well-being (including anxiety level) of the diver.

Of course the dive instructors were professional, and it was really nice the way that one guy tried to calm "Hell Boy" down, but I'll bet that somewhere in the background someone was laughing like crazy if only on the inside to see him bobbing around in the water like that. I'm sorry but I was lauging out loud. He reminded me of Ralphies brother Randy...anyone remember the "Christmas Story"? Remember when the mom bundled Randy up to go to school and he had so much stuff on he couldn't see, and he couldn't get his arms down to his side? She's push his arms down and they would pop right out and then he fell down and couldn't get up? That's all I could think of with "Hell Boy" in his diving suit on his back in the water. I still need to know what is it with that hair?

Rebecca deserves a special award for resisting the impulse to snip off those ridiculous pigtails/horns with manicure scissors while Adam's sleeping.

I was out of town unexpectedly and just saw the tape last night. So doesn't anyone else think after this episode that Victoria is almost as awful and abusive as Jonathan? I thought she dished it out pretty well last night. Ugh -- they really are meant for each other.

I'm rooting for John and Kris, even if they do call each other baby. The only contestant who really deserves that epithet is Hell Boy!

Yeah, at first I felt sorry for Victoria, but she's almost as bad - but not quite. Yes, they deserve each other, but too bad they can't just live in their own little world and not be exposed to the rest of humanity.
