Again, thanks so very much for your suggestions! I'm familiar with the historical fiction superthread but because of it's general subject nature and it's terrific length, I wanted to cheat a little and not have to sift through all of it. You guys came through for me! BTW, the Penman book on Eleanor of Aquitaine is titled Time and Chance. I LOVE Penman's books and was hoping someone of you would know her comparable who has written about France.
