Hire Van and driver in Krakow

Is it possible to hire a van and driver to drive seven people from Krakow to Debica? Just for a day trip. Driver doesn't have to be an English speaker.
Also hiring a different van and driver in Wroclaw to drive to Sroda Slaska.
Not for tourist reasons, just visiting relatives.
Are there web sites for this request? Should we try through our hotels?
Our travel agent has not been able to come up with anyone and our trip is in a few weeks.

Have you tried posting a request on Craigslist? Might help...Or, maybe a concierge at a local (Polish) hotel?

What or where is Craigslist?

I did read here that asking at the hotel might be an option.

I am currently reading Rick Steves Best of Eastern Europe 2006 Guidebook. He does include a few recommended drivers/private tour guides. His "Eastern Europe" is Eastern/Central Europe.

When we took our Italy 2004 trip, I used 2 of his recommended drivers/private tour guides for Italy, and they were great!

In the Borders bookstore, the Europe and Eastern Europe guidebooks were together...and the guidebooks for one European country only were in a separate aisle.

He also has a web-site www.ricksteves.com

Fodors is coming out with a new edition of their Prague guidebook this month (March 2007)...

good luck!

Your hotel should be able to arrange a van and driver. We have done this twice and the results were more than satisfactory. Our service has been with a familiar taxi company. Kraków is a tourist oriented city. A van service is inexpensive because seven people are sharing the cost! And it is 'pure luxury'. Be good to your driver it will pay dividends.
