Hilton Villa Igea, Palermo, Sicily

We will be there Oct 15 for 6 days. Has anyone stayed there? Is it easy and safe to get around with a rental car? Day trips? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I've stayed at the Grand Hotel Villa Igiea in Palermo. It wasn't a Hilton. Did Hilton very recently acquire the hotel because the hotel's website still says it's a Turin Hotel. If this is the hotel you mean, we enjoyed our stay there very much. Had a double deluxe room with terrace overlooking the harbor and Palermo. Beautiful gardens and pool. No swimming in the sea though. Ample free parking for your car and it is an easy, short drive to the center of Palermo. Nice breakfast buffet and friendly staff.

Yes, Hilton has recently taken over the hotel as well as one other in Palermo. We have had such good luck with Hilton from Athens to Cancun.

WE stayed there about 10 yrs ago and had a delightful time. As I recall we took taxis into the center of Palermo to avoid parking, etc. Quick trip, no problems. When we did so side trips it was easy to get on the highway from the hotel since it was on the outskirts.

How was your stay at Hilton Villa Igiea Grand Hotel, Palermo in Oct? We're planning on going in July. Can you swim in the sea? Also, how did you get from the Palermo airport to the hotel?
