Hi, islandgirl!
Last October, we stayed at the Hilton Munich City, and found it to be quite convenient (partly because the trains are so good). The hotel was a good one: Our room was fine, and the restaurants were good. The daytime concierge was not very helpful, but then nothing's perfect.
For more info on the hotel (and on Munich, if you want it), please see my trip report--

As an alternative, check the Dorint Sofitel Bayerpost: Better location, better hotel, better spa and pool.

What might also interest you is the fact that this particular Hilton sits directly above, and has inside access to [from the lobby] the Rosenheimer Platz S-Bahn station. Easy to get to from the airport; two stops from the center of things.
The buffet brakfast is the usual full deal and the place is air conditioned.
