High Tatras for New Years

We plan to be in the High Tatras for New Years [arrive 30.12 depart 02.01] and so far all accommodation enquiries have come up with full houses. We had hoped to stay in pensions. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Where in Tatras? Poland or Slovakia? It is somehow late for those days you mentioned. We made our reservations for Lomnica in Slovakia in February. Good luck

this maybe tough - Slovakia's Tatry region is a little more cheaper then Poland's therefore in addition to regular tourists you also have ones looking for cheaper accomondations. Kids being out at that time makes this area just packed to it's limits. <BR>Make sure you have reservations before visiting. <BR>Try http://www.hotel.sk/ <BR>http://www.tatry.sk/ <BR>http://www.hotelsslovakia.com/ <BR>http://www.hotel-west.sk/index2.html <BR>http://www.hotel-tatra.sk/ <BR>http://members.aol.com/rickscyber/16.htm <BR>You also may want to try the Polish side town of Zakopane - which probably also be packed. <BR>http://www.polhotels.com <BR>http://www.hotelsinpoland.com <BR>http://www.hotelspoland.com <BR>or pension/BB type call/email PTTK <BR>http://www.pttk.pl <BR> <BR>

Must it be in one of the Slovakian High Tatras resorts? How would you feel about staying in Poprad (well actually a village outside the the town)?

If you continue to draw a blank on the resorts and are looking for alternatives, post again.

I stayed in a glorious B&amp;B this summer which I would be happy to recommend (though, of course, they may not be open in the wintertime).

Transport from Poprad to the High Tatras is easy and quick on the train.

The place I stayed at - www.hotelsmokovec.sk - is asking 50% extra for your time period! Don't know if they have room. If it doesn't have to be the mountains I can highly recommend this place in Levoca - http://www.uleva.sk/English/accommod...el_u_leva.html.
