Helsinki and Berlin...opinions please?

I've just mapped the livelier areas you mentioned and sure enough they are around Casa Camper and the Hotel Am Stienplatz. I think we have some good options as we can switch to these two or stay at the place I've reserved around Gendarmenmarkt which would certainly be comfortable.
In terms of walking tours in Berlin there seem to be lots of options, does anyone have any recommendations for one they particularly liked...?

Dukey1- My "nighttime" interest will be pretty tame and I may indeed be better suited to the old folks home but I survived Carnival in Provincetown and I look forward to shock and awe in Berlin!
