My advice regarding the various ticket offices are aimed at those looking to buy tickets not just the " pick up " of tickets.
Lines often form for popular operas and many do not realize other box offices exist.

Regarding the season.

Very often local people are away on vacations in August here.
Schools begin in early September. Some seniors like to travel in September - lower vacation- hotel prices and fewer kids..
These people are often opera goers.
Often the season can begin a little slowly until people are all back in town for the year.

Too soon to determine if the economics cause some to not purchase tickets.By October it will be easier to see.
But better restaurants say their business is less than last year so it is most possible that economics troubles will have some effect. Certainly the better tickets are expensive.
I know some that move to lower price categories but still will attend.

We see what happens.

Soon, the current Director of the Opera will retire. Although this does not have an immediate effect on the program. People wait to see for the changes in future years.

liesl

the system may have changed since this thread was "live" - i had a look at the website and it didn't seem that familiar.

i suggest doing some up to date research rather than relying on the info here.

Thank you; I will review. It is just so complicated . . .

I am hoping that the concierge at my hotel can help.
