Help with Tuscany!!

I would love to hear any suggestions for a few days in Tuscany. We will be there in a few weeks. What are your favorite places?? We will be heading from Florence down to Rome. Where should we stay the night? Also, what is the best form of transportation.. should we rent a car, take a train or bus? Any help will be appreciated..

You really need a car to see rural Tuscany well. What is a few days? Is that 5 or 2? I would stay south of Siena but that depands on if you have a car. Click on my name to see other posts about Tuscany and where to stay.

Sorry about that, I didn't explain my question very well. My previous post was more detailed on where we were going to be. This is a very flexible itinerary, so please let me know if you see what needs to be changed.

Venice - 2 days
Cinque Terre - 2 days, spend a couple of hrs in Pisa on the way to Florence
Florence - 3 or 4 days
Siena or Cortona - 1 day
Rome - 4 days

But, I will definitely check out your posts. Thank you!!

www.fagiolari.com I would recommend wholeheartedly as a great b&b/inn experience. We cooked one night, ate from the others cooking one night, brought home bottles of wine made there... wonderful. I wish I had time to visit the sister property, so check that out too! I believe it's closer to Rome.

There are three great restaurants in the area.

Il Vescovino in Panzano
Ristorante Lamole in Lamole
Le Scuderia in Badia Passignana
