Help with small Town
<BR>Could anyone give me info on where Valogna is located in Italy. I think its aroud Naples area -- very small town where my Father was born and would like to fnd in July. I've seen letters with the name Valogna on it. Would appreciate any help. <BR> <BR>Thanks

Are you sure of the spelling? I didn't find a "Valogna" in www.google.com, and usually I can find any Italian municipal <BR>ity at least once in Google, since there are sites listing all the zip codes. There's a Valonga in Spain. I know of a Vallelunga in Sicily. Try to get some more info from relatives or old papers. Do you know the region, e.g., Sicily, Calabria, Basilicata, Campania, Puglia, etc.?

Hello again Audrey, <BR> <BR>Did you find it? The reference I found mentioned it as a 'frazione' of Sessa Aurunca, a small town near Formia, NW of Naples. <BR> <BR>This means it's within the administrative district of Sessa, probably a small village within a 5-mile radius. <BR> <BR>You can get to Sessa Aurunca by local train from Formia (- a 15 minute journey) or from Naples itself. <BR> <BR>I hope this helps... <BR> <BR>Steve <BR>

Steve, did you find this info on the internet or in a book? I occasionally look for info on obscure little towns in southern Italy, so I'd welcome a lead to a good source. <BR> <BR>P.S. Have you traveled in Basilicata and Calabria? If so, may I ask you questions directly? <BR> <BR>P.P.S. I was the "xxx" above who couldn't find Valogna.

If the town is Valogno, then to get there take the Capua exit on the Rome-Naples autostrada (A1), go west from the exit for about 12 miles past Francolise until you come to Cascano. At Cascano, go north for alittle over 2 miles until you get to Valogno. It is about 5 miles from Sessa Aurunca.

P.S. - The train station for Sessa Aurunca is not close to the town of Sessa Aurunca. It's closer to Cellole and is about 4 miles from Sessa Aurunca and about 7 miles from Valogno. Therefore, it will probably be hard to get to Valogno without a car. Maybe there's a bus that runs from the station but I'm not sure.
