Help with rail tickets in Spain
What is the best/cheapest way to use the train system from Madrid to Barcelona? My son is studying abroad and will be going from Madrid to Barcelona on Nov. 2 with a return on Nov. 5. He origianally had purchased a rail pass for Spain, but it was delayed/lost in the mail from the US and will not reach him in time to use for his traveling dates.
Immediate help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I think that maybe the bus will be cheaper. Does he have to go by train?

OK, in that case, the best thing he can do is head straight away to a travel agent (the Corte Ingles will be perfect for that) and buy there a return ticket.
I am talking about travel agents because buying at the big stations is a bit crazy (although Chamartin is a bit better than Atocha). I donīt remember student discounts, but if he has the ISIC card, he might try to ask and find out if he can get a reduction.
Kind regards, Cova
