Help with Paris Hotel??
Any first hand knowlegde of The Grand Hotel Aston Tulip, Novotel Nice Centre or The Hotel Mercure Centre Notre-Dame. Do you have any idea which area these hotels are in? How about a nice bistro type restaurant in the area. Thank you jwg

StCirq Thanks for your prompt response. No I don't really think I want to stay at the airport but I am traveling with a group. We arrive in Paris in the am and leave the next day by train. What should a family of 2 adults and 2 teenage boys try to do in Paris with such limited time? And how should we get ourselves there? Thanks for your input.

I suggest you take the RER (train) from near the Ibis to the Saint-Michel stop. Walk across the river to Notre-Dame. Near Notre-Dame you can take the Parisbus which makes nine stops at various monuments in Paris. You get on and off as you please with one ticket. I think this would give you the best overall view of the city. Enjoy this most beautiful of cities. Boots

I recommend a great and fairly priced hotel just around the corner from Notre Dame, off rue St Michel. It's called Hotel de la Sorbonne. Rooms are small, but clean and very french with great windows and very nice staff. Rates are about 510 Francs (about $75 US) per night for double with private bathroom. You are right at the Sorbonne- a beautiful place with lots of shopping, cafes, etc.. and student energy. It is at 6 rue Victor Cousin, (33) 01 43 54 58 08. <BR>Take RER to St Michel, walk south (away from Seine) about three blocks to Place de la Sorbonne take left past fountains then go right up victor cousin and hotel is on right. Very nice place. We were just there and loved it. bon voyage!
