help with itinerary London, Paris, Germany
We will be traveling to Europe at Christmas of 2010. We will have 12 days on the ground. We would like to go to London, Paris, and some part of Germany. We don't have plane tickets yet, so we can do the trip in any order. I am looking for suggestions of where to go in Germany, and how to get around from place to place. We would be comfortable in renting a car, but are also open to travel by train. Thank you for your help.

If you haven't been to any of those places before, you really don't have enough time for three different countries. Plus w/ the VERY short daylight and probable bad weather, it isn't the best time to be moving around so much - especially by car.
Day one is pretty much lost to recovery/jetlag, day 12 is for packing and getting to the airport. So you really need to think in terms of 10 days free for seeing the sites - then subtract at least 1/2 a day for every time you move cities.
You could Pick 2 or 3 places in Germany and take trains. Or split your time between London and Paris, or between one of those cities and a couple of places in Germany.
Stick to trains (or budget airlines between certain city pairs) Once you decide where you are going we can help w/ the details.

Thank you. We are high energy and travel a lot. We won't lose time to jet lag, and we actually travel on day 13. I would appreciate help in getting from Paris to Germany. What part of Germany we should see, and how to figure what train to take. Thanks.
