Help with Itinerary

Hi,
I and my husband are planning now our
early September two weeks trip to
Italy and Swiss. We are probably
flying to Munich in order to rent
a car and continue to north Italy (Venice, Milano) and then to Swiss.
Any help about itinerary and B/B in Italy
and Swiss will be appretiated.

Lilya-
We are leaving on our trip in a few weeks, and I have planned it all using Fodor (of course!) and the Karen Brown series of books. Get those from the bookstore for your intended countries. Karen Brown has a sample letter in the language that will help get room reservations. We did all of that by fax. We are renting our car out of Munich too... but check with your credit card about the insurance. We used our Amex to rent the car (always pay for this in advance-- much cheaper).. and they told us that they don't offer car insurance in Italy. That may be a good place to try the trains. From reading those two books, you 'll come up with good ideas. Happy planning!

Lilya- What is the itinerary/route you have in mind?

My husband & I drove from Venice (through the Dolomites; breathtaking!)to Munich (stopped at Trento and Innsbruck), then head out for Switzerland (stopped at Liechenstein), head down to Pisa (stopped at Milan and Genoa) and continue on to Florence. We spend 10 days. It was a great trip. What type of route you have in mind?

For lovely scenery/trains/cable cars/hiking, I suggest the area above Interlaken in Switzerland. We had a wonderful time there last year. We took the train and went to Florence and the Cinque Terre in Italy, so I can't recommend for your areas in Italy.
