Help with info about Cadaques.
Hi.
We will be on holiday in Catalonia next summer - from the 28th of August to the 8th of September. Our base will be in beautiful Tossa de Mar.
We are planning an overnight stay in Cadaques.
I know late August/early September is still considered "high season", so my question is:
Will Cadaques be very crowded during that period, especially at weekends? Will there be many daytrippers - again specially at weekends?
Will the town calm a bit down at weekdays - and is it realistic to book a hotel in Cadaques on short notice?
Hope somebody out there has some experiences with the town - it looks absolutely gorgeous and I would love to visit it.
best regards Jan, Denmark

Yes, Cadaqués will still probably be quite busy in late August, as it's still the school holiday vacation period. The music festival is held in July, so you will miss those crowds, but the town will still bring in weekend crowds and day trippers.
I would recommend pre-booking a hotel. Much closer to your departure date, see the offerings on booking.com.
The Playa Sol and the Llané Petit have been well reviewed here on this forum.
There's the new boutique Villa Gala that I haven't seen, which is usually the most expensive option, but there are many other lower budget options.
Here are some of Eddi Fiegel's reviews from the Telegraph-
