Help with flights TPA to VCE

Just a general question, for those who might be able to help.

I am looking at flights out of Tampa, in January. I will be spending a few days in Venice.

Will I have more success flying into another city (Rome or Florence) and taking the train to Venice? For some reason (and I could have totally made this up!), I'm thinking that flights into and out of Venice in the winter months are more scarce than the summer months.

If you were going...which would you prefer?

I am sorry pantelia as I don't understand your question. Venice has a lot of fog during the winter months so you can have delays. What other areas of Italy do you plan to visit? Your question confuses me. Best regards.

I wouldn't overlook the idea of getting a cheaper flight to London (preferably Gatwick, if possible) and then flying Easy Jet from Gatwick to Venice.
At least if the total price is an issue.

I was referring to price, but, I think I've confused myself with my question as well. I will take a look at London and Easy Jet, thanks!

Perhaps I really should stop looking until I've had a few nights of real sleep, post-vacation!

Sorry for the confusion.

I don't see any appreciable price differential in going to VCE directly v. someplace like Milan and then train. If anything VCE is cheaper, especially when you consider ground transport cost, extra time, etc.

LGW plus easyJet is indeed a possibility, but more of a hassle. Watch baggage limits and "extras" on EZY - sometimes bargains ain't.

Delta has a daily flight from Atlanta nonstop to Venice...I believe it will operate year round. I live in the NY area & I fly non-stop from JFK...but the daily flight is not available from JFK in January.
