I have been reading what gharrell has planned for her June trip. I, too, am in the throes of pulling a last minute trip together in early June. I would like to know how you rented your car. From what I have read, we are better off to do this ourselves, but I wonder if there is difficulty finding a b&b in June. Let me know what you have learned! Thank you

Since the original post was 2004, you might be better starting a new question. People might not be looking at this one again. Regardless, I believe you would have trouble getting into the accommodations you prefer in June, but there usually are places available.
It's really enjoyable planning a trip from here, contacting the b&b's and giving yourself a sense of order before you leave, without being overplanned.
And, yes, do this yourself. Driving is half the adventure!
