I agree - the road between Mostar and the coast wasn't bad at all. I wouldn't call it mountainous - maybe more hilly than the coastal road in Croatia but nothing scary. My biggest annoyance while driving that road was some road construction that forced traffic to stop a few times while they were paving or something. Otherwise, it was a very easy drive.

Yeah, Andrew he did mention lots of traffic and crazy drivers.

But his bottom line, it is no problem to drive. (Of course we all have different driving tolerances).

Actually, I was quite nervous ahead of time to drive in Croatia but especially in Bosnia and Herzegovina. I had only driven in France in Europe before this and that was some years ago. But it turned out driving in Croatia was not scary at all. And driving in BiH - at least the relatively short drive between Croatia and Mostar - was no worse. In fact there were crazy drivers in Croatia who would pass you with seemingly very little clearance, often weaving back in in front of you right before the oncoming car in the other lane. Driving in BiH was no worse (in my brief experience). After about an hour, I was driving the same way. Drive like the locals...

The driving that made me the most nervous was in Dubrovnik, when I was returning my rental car. I couldn't find a gas station to top off my tank, then I couldn't find the place to return the car or even pull over to ask someone, and at each wrong turn I had to drive around in circles or down narrow roads. Compared to Dubrovnik, driving near Mostar was easy.
