HELP with BADEN HOTEL
My wife and I are going to Baden in September for one day and night and are having a difficult time finding a place to stay. Does anyone have any recommendations? We'd prefer to stay in a centrally located Pension, but would consider splurging for one night. Please help. . . thanks!

I spent several days in Baden last month--we stayed at the Krainerhuette Hotel. It was nice, but I wouldn't call it a splurge by any means. With your difficulties--is it that everything is booked or you don't know which hotel to choose. Try and stay close to the Casino if you want a central location.
BTilke

As I recall, the Hotel Mercure was right across the street from the Casino, by a pretty park, and nicer than we expected. There's also a Sacher hotel, but it's not as close in.
FYI, the famous Sacher Torte was invented by MRS. Sacher, not her son. She actually had two sons; the "good" son opened the hotel in Baden. The other was a bit lazy, etc., and sold her recipe--without her permission.
BTilke
