Help w/ my 10-day Italy Gameplan

Hi All,
I have been to Florence and Northern Italy before but this will be my boyfriend's first time. I want to know if you think this is a good gameplan, any recommendations you have for Lucca, and towns/places to stay in the Tuscany Region. We'll looking for places not more than 120/night.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Here's the Plan:

Friday Arrive in Pisa at 9:30 pm
Saturday morning Climb the Leaning Tower
Saturday morning Train to Lucca
Sunday morning In Lucca
Sunday afternoon Train to Cinque Terra
Monday In Cinque Terra till 5pm
Monday night Arrive in Rome via train
Tuesday In Rome
Wednesday In Rome
Thursday morning Pick up car in Rome &
drive to Tuscany Region
Friday Tuscany Region
Saturday Tuscany Region
Sunday morning Drop off car & hang out
in Florence
Fly home 7am Monday morning from Florence

Why break up Tuscany into two trips? It seems like it would be easier to do Lucca/Pisa/Cinque Terre, then Florence and more Tuscany, then fly out of Rome. Or start in Rome and work your way north, flying out of Pisa.

Hi tracey,

More moving about than I like, but it looks good.

We wanted to fly either out or into Rome, but from San Francisco it was too expensive...so the best we could do was fly into Pisa and out of Florence. Our dates are September 23 -Oct 4, 2004.

I guess if you're not too interested in Rome, then your plan is ok. But IMO, 2 days is too little for Rome if you have never been there.
