I visited Mallorca in the summer of 1997 and loved it. What did you want to know? Yes, it is very safe, and very interesting. Good roads, lots to do, etc. You will be amazed at how humonguous the airport is for such a small island. Be sure to visit the Drach caves, the pearl factory, the town of Petra where Father Serra came from, and the town of Palma itself. I stayed in an apartment so I can't say too much about hotels. I also didn't go to any of the other islands. Get a hold of a good guidebook, rent a car and go for it.

I´ve been three times to Majorca. I think is a very complete island. The Tramontana Range is wild and also the west coast ( Don´t miss peaceful Deia,Banyalbufar,Estellencs, Valldemossa ),it is full of beautiful caves ( Drach, Artá, Campanet , and Palma is a very elegant city with beautiful monuments. Formentor is of course worth a visit, Pollensa, Soller, etc. Menorca and its cities worth also a visit, but be careful if there is Tramontana wind, it can be really windy. Ibiza is a hot summer spot and can be quiet in this time, and has the best weather of the three.
