On a 5 week trip to Europe last fall, my feet really suffered because I took 2 pairs of shoes that didn't work for me! I thought they would, but I got terrible blisters. I had left at home a pair that I thought were too ugly, although they had not caused any pain on 2 previous trips. How I longed for those ugly shoes! After doing shoe research, I decided to shop for SAS shoes. It has been years since I bought that brand. I bought the "Viva" style which is a slip-on walking shoe. In size 10 1/2 N they look really big, but so far they are very comfortable. The saleslady said I should wear them in my home until I am certain they are O.K. I have decided to go back to the store & get the style called Simplify, which is a basic loafer style. That way I will have two pairs of comfortable shoes for travel.

I just found out about the lounge. Go to the place where it says change forums and you will see the word lounge.Just click on.
I wore my MBT's to N.Y. City last year and at that time they were doing great. I had worn them for a year and a half, all over the U.S and Italy. They take the pressure off of your back, and place it on your hips and knees. After that amount of time, suddenly my left hip began to ache and it took me about 4 months to figure it out. I still think the shoes were fantastic for the feet. Just not my hips. So choose, aching feet or hip. I don't want either. Actually, I want my dogs to feel about 30 years old! Ha!

There are several types of discussions going on. It didn't seem to me the place to ask about Morton's Neuroma, but it is very interesting non the less. Check it out.
I will be checking out the SAS. My mom wore them for years. By the way, I haven't worn anything higher than a Birkenstock or Dansko heel in years. I have one pair of two inch heels I drag out for the wedding and funerals and that is it for me. Sometime the Birks even make it to the funerals!
I wore Birkenstocks to London and New York a few years ago. I feel like if I dress well and wear a nifty scarf, prehaps no one will look below the knees. I could be dreaming that. Thanks again Ya'll, Sharon P.S. EXcuse my meanderings, My Rotator Cuff meds have kicked in.
