Help needed Please with Itinerary & Train Travel

Help With Itinerary Please help!

Hi I am travelling with my family to Europe in June, I have never been before but would really appreciate some help. Can anyone tell me if i need a 3, 4 or 5 Eurail Pass? I am flying between some points.
London to Brussells - by Train Staying 2 nights. Departing afternoon for overnight train to Prague. Staying 2 days in Prague.
Prague to Vienna by Train staying 2 nights. Vienna to Athens (Plane) 4 day Greek Island Cruise plus 3 full days in Athens.
Then Athens to Rome (Flying). Staying 4 days in Rome. Unsure of how but in this time will take a trip to Pisa. Rome to FLorence (Train) 2 nights. Florence to Venice (Train)2 nights. Venice to Nice (Train) 2 nights. Nice to Paris (Train) 4 nights then Paris to London (Flying)

Any help at all and advice is greatly appreciated. I am from Australia and being so far away from Europe it is very hard to visualise distances.

All my accommodation has been prebooked, but I can make changes if needed.
Also has anyone been to Paris Disneyland, any tips and directions from Paris as I am taking my teenage children.

many thanks

That is an ambitious program. Pack light -- get everything in a carry-on bag. I don't understand your EurailPass question.

You shouldn't need any kind of "rail pass". It's such a common misconception that you're not to blame. The thinking seems to go that a "rail pass" is the only way to travel by train affordably. As if a "restaurant pass" would be the only way to eat a meal!

The website www.railsaver.com can help you compare the prices of the routes you need and tell you if there is any rail pass that might be relevant to your travel.

By the way, if you want to visit Pisa (one of those half day things that people feel that they "need" to do, to say that they have "experienced" Italy) - - you'll want to do that from Florence.

And this "odyssey" is so "ping-pong-y" I would recommend eliminating the two nights in Nice. This is a ton of train travel in only six days: Rome to Florence, Florence to Venice, Venice to Nice, Nice to Paris. You're going to be sick of trains!

Best wishes,

Rex

Hi ginger,

Any reason why you are flying Paris to London instead of taking the Eurostar?

Have you looked into open jaw air tickets--so you could fly home from Paris? At least, that would be one journey fewer.

Also you might go from Rome to Venice, then to Florence, then to Nice. That lessens some travel time. And you could see Pisa as a stopover between Florence and Nice. That is, en route, leave your bags at the station, check out the tower, and hop back on the train.

Another thought, take the train from Vienna to Venice and fly from there to Athens. If possible.

That's a lot of traveling you're planning.
