Our family (2+2)arr. to Dublin Aug 14th.
We need a nice clean and not expansive B&B or hotel.
A lot of info on the net. Any recommendation?

My husband and I stayed at the Lynman on O'Connell St. We got an internet price the night before of 115 euros which would also include 2 children. It was basic but clean, yes, noisy outside, but very conveniently located.

Unlike the common practice (in Ireland) of charging per person for a room, the Jurys chain charges only by the room, and offers rooms that can accommodate 2 adults and 2 children, assuming that the children are not too big.

Of course, once a child is big enough to want 10 minutes alone in the bathroom, I recommend separate rooms from the adults.

We just returned from Dublin where we stayed at the Mercer Hotel on Lower Mercer Street. The rooms were well-priced and large. The location is very central--we walked to everything. The only drawback was that construction began about 8:30 a.m. on a site next door to the hotel, so if you are late sleepers, you will hear it. I went through bookassist and paid 124 Euros per room per night.

Don't bother with Lynams too noisy and crummy from what a work colleague said who staid recently. He thought Jurys was much nicer and B& 's try ballsbridge, sandymount (Both soutside) and Drumcondra or Clontarf (northside)

Check out family rooms at Jurys Inn at Parnell Street or at Christchurch - both very central.

Jurys Christchurch is the one I know from a brief stay there, years ago. As mentioned above, good location. Plain vanilla accommodations, but nothing negative to say about it.
