Help! Need cheap hotel in Paris!

My girlfriend and I are going to Paris for spring break and I'm looking for a nice hotel in a central location for around 300-400F per night. It seems like everyone has their own personal favorite little Parisian hotel, but given my circumstances (think fun/romantic getaway) what would be the best place to stay?

Do a search on this forum because this subject has come up before.
Take a look at this place:
http://www.france-hotel-guide.com/75paccue.htm
It has a long list of places. If you scroll well down for the 6th and 7th Arrs you will find un rated places.
Of the rated places. the Grand Hotel Leveque gets the highest reviews, but it may be full because of its popularity.
Levêque 29 rue Cler
Télephone. 01 47 05 49 15 Fax 01 45 50 49 36

Try the Hotel Castex in the Marais area. It should be in about that price range, maybe slightly more, but it is clean and in a great location. However, I don't know what you consider "nice" but in my experience, "nice" (meaning charming, romantic etc) and 300-400 fr. do not go together. That rate in central Paris can get you a good, clean, basic place.

Hotel Minerve at 500-550FFF. Good location and friendly staff. You better make reservations NOW because hotels fill up quickly. Near Jussieu Metro station.

Try the Hotel Grande Levuque on Rue Clare in the 7th district. It is a pedestrian street in the daytime, full of food stalls and various kinds of shops. Walk to many major attractions. I would ask for room at back. A really good way to experience a real neighbourhood where the locals go to do their daily shopping.

When I visited Paris in July 99 I stayed at:
Hôtel de Rouen
42 Rue Croix-des-Petits-Champs
Tel 01 42 61 38 21
Métro Louvre-Rivolí
1st Arrondissement (really downtown!)
Look for Eveline or Fernanda.
A very basic one-star hotel - room with a double bed for 290FF. En-suite facilities (toilet+washbasin+shower). No tv set, no telephone (but who cares? I don't!). You have all Paris to explore! Within walking distance to Hôtel de Ville, Notre Dame Cathedral, Quartier Latin, Louvre Museum, River La Seine...Have a WOOOONDERFUL TIME!
Would second the recommendation for Hotel Leveque on Rue Cler in the 7th. Close to Eiffel Tower and in your price range. I would call or e-mail today. It is not large and fills up quickly.

Try http://www.hotelboulevard.com
I booked Hotel Daguerre through them and was very pleased with the booking service and the hotel. It was only 470 francs a night and was well worth it.

The Hotel Leveque has a web site that lists the rates and room availability for the next 3 months. I believe you can even make reservations directly on line. The site is http://interresa.ca/hotel/leveque.
Good Luck.

I fourth the Grand Hotel Leveque - ask for a fifth floor room - or room 52.
