butterfingers- It's because you are new. Once you have more than 5 posts (i think it is) you should be able to post as many times a day as you like. On as many threads as you like.

Guess that is an anti-spam tactic?

The three main places in Europe I want to visit are Germany (For the food, culture, and the country as a whole), France (For the Eiffel Tower, Louvree, and Normandy beach), and the UK (For Ireland,London, and Scotland). How can I make that trip work in 10 days? Are there any countries or places that I missed that are a must to visit? If these are too many places what country should i stay in?

It looks like the moderators combined the two threads for you . . . so it is all on the same thread now.

>>How can I make that trip work in 10 days? <<

Most likely something will have to give. Is your entire trip 10 Days -- if so you only have 7.5 days to play with. One or 2 places in Germany and one-ish day 2 nights in Paris OR One or 2 places in Germany and one-ish day 2 nights in London. This would still be very rushed.

IF you can give up Germany this trip and maybe plan another trip there on a few years where you ca spend 10 days or 2 weeks JUST in Germany. Then this trip could just be London/Paris, open jaw in to London home from Paris, train London > Paris . . . easy peasy.

OR just do Germany this trip and visit Paris/the UK on a future trip.

Yes as janis says easy to now do a wee bit of Germany and a few days in Paris or London - get a taste of each (well not of German foods many say and heavens not British) and plan to come back.

You can't. Germany, France (Paris & Normandy beach), Ireland, London, Scotland. 4 countries and 1 city are simply too much to fit into 10 days.

Would it work if I fly into Germany (probably Tegel Berlin), Stay in Germany for 4 days, Go to Reims and Paris for 1-2 days, then Go over to England and Ireland and fly out from dublin? Is that too much for 10 days? Because I really want to experience different cultures. I might be able to go for 2 weeks with my sister. If I have 14 (including the weekend before) 16 days to be in Europe how can I plan out a trip in Germany,France,UK that will be more affordable and efficient?

Simply, no.
If I wanted to do this crazy thing I might limit my extent of "culture". For instance every major city in Europe has an Irish Pub. So perhaps, fly into Frankfurt, drop down to the Mosel, train to Reims, train to London and fly out. All a bit rushed but might work

You cannot. It's impossible without a lear jet or a magic carpet. And why would you even want to? There is a HUGE disconnect between thinking you can "experience" culture or food or anything else and racing all over a continent. You're 17. Presumably you'll find a way to get back to Europe, hopefully with more than 10 days to enjoy it.

You don't want to spend all your time in transit. You only have 10 days so enjoy those 10 days with the understanding that you will be back. Spend your time soaking up the culture where you are rather than jumping from city to city and wasting previous time waiting for planes, in flight, packing up, travelling to and from the airports etc.

With your time I would do two locations

Fly into Berlin and home from London
Fly into Berlin and home from Paris
Fly into Berlin and home from Dublin
Fly into London and home from Paris
Fly into London and home from Dublin
Fly into Berlin and home from Munich

You can do day trips to see smaller towns and countryside to get a good mix. I think the biggest mistake new travellers make is thinking that jumping from place to place will allow them to see more things and more culture when actually you just see more boring airports or train stations.

Europe isn't going anywhere so plan to come back often.

Happy planning

If you really want to 'experience different cultures' you will find this hard to do if always on a train or plane and never having time to really experience one cuture let alone several.

Plain and simple -- no- it is not possible.

Many of us have given you reasonable suggestions - most of them are still pretty rushed, but doable. Your plan to hit four countries is just not realistic. You need to decide which 2 (or at most 3) places you want to visit. That is 2 or 3 individual cities, not 'Germany' plus another 2 cities. Pick 2 or 3 specific towns/cities that are your musts.

I do understand all of your responses. Thank you. I think I will just pick either UK, France, or Germany and just stick there. Either country I pick I will see the Eiffel Tower and the Louvree no matter what. I think If I go with my sister I will have 14 days plus the weekend before which in total will be 16 days. So if I do have 14 days I can probably spend 6 days in Germany and 6 days in France. Or 8 days in the UK, 4 in France. Or 4 days in Germany, 4 in France, and 4 in the UK. I do understand that this is a lot of transit time and not enough time in the countries, but this will most likely be my only trip for years due to financial reasons and I want to make it count. Thoughts? If not, I will just take a road trip in the US.

14-16 days days is a lot different than the 10 days you've been talking about. So you could hit 3 or 4 destinations - but you keep mentioning whole countries (Germany, France, the UK). That makes it harder to figure out your actual itinerary. Instead think in terms of specific destinations -- which could all be in the same country or in different countries.

So for the UK i’m talking about Dublin,Edinburgh,Birmingham, and/or London. For France i’m thinking of Paris,Normandy,Reims and/or (wherever else is nice I do not know much about France). For Germany i’m thinking of the Bavaria Region, Hamburg, and Berlin.

First of all . . . Dublin is not in the UK -- it is in Ireland.

Secondly -- any ONE of your lists • Dublin, Edinburgh, Birmingham, London • or • Paris, Normandy, Reims and wherever else • or • Bavaria, Hamburg, and Berlin. would fill 14 days (which is 11.5 days on the ground) In fact you list for the 'UK' is too much for 2 weeks. Could I ask why Birmingham? Do you have relatives there?

Listen I am pretty Ignorant on traveling because I have never left the US. I have Family in London. I figured that Birmingham looks like a pretty cool place to visit.

Don't get discourage from comments here but take them to heart - two weeks is a lot better than 10 days:

So for the UK i’m talking about Dublin,Edinburgh,Birmingham, and/or London. For France i’m thinking of Paris, Normandy, Reims and/or (wherever else is nice I do not know much about France). For Germany i’m thinking of the Bavaria Region, Hamburg, and Berlin.>

Still simply way too much - Bavaria region would take 2-3 days if includes Munich
Berlin is huge - 2 days
Hamburg maybe a whole day.

Much of a day to go between them

Then a day to get to Paris
need another full day there
Normandy - at least to D-Day beaches near Bayeux would take a whole day
Reims would take a whole day

Much of a day to get to Dublin - another day there
A day to get to Edinburgh and a day there
take night train to London

London at least 2 full days

those are what most would say are minimum times needed in each place to see the highlights.

That's about 20 days

Now just cut a few things like Dublin andBirmingham (why or why Birmingham- curious) Hamburg and Reims IMO

Don't try to do the impossible but the possible even at a pace too quick for many and you have a workable 14-16 days

Book flights and trains in advance to get cheapest fares.

And go for it - yes go for it - who knows yes if you will have the chance to do so in near future and traveling when young is such a learning experience - GO FOR IT!
