Help me plan my 4 day trip
Hi! I'm a 20 year old woman and at the beginning of March I'll be travelling alone for the first time to Paris. I'll be staying in the 20rd arrondissement. I'm trying to come up with an itinerary for my trip but I would like some other opinions to, things that are worth seeing even if they are not as popular. Also I have no idea what I could do in the evenings. I would really appreciate it anybody's help. Thank you!

First thing to do is read guidebooks and study maps. Then get to know how to get around: www.ratp.fr and www.parisbytrain.com are good starting points.
We always stay in the 20ème these days. It's a marvelously diverse and eclectic area, though of course it's not all the same. I would think a young person would have a ball there. It's full of art galleries and funky cafés and cheap ethnic eateries and markets and little ethnic shops. There are great bus and métro connections.
Google Time Out 20ème arrondissement - there's a good recap there of what you can do in the area.

Get a google map of the Parc de Belleville. On a clear day, have a picnic on the grassy slopes of the Parc de Belleville, end of rue des Envierges, enjoying a view of the city. Then a pleasant walk down through the park. Pyrenees Metro.

What do you like to do in the evenings when you're at home?
Go to concerts? Go out to eat? Either of those would be good ideas.
Vedettes du Pont Neuf are tour boats that go up and down the Seine, leaving from the north side of the Pont Neuf. They are a great activity for the evenings, to see all the city lights twinkling in the dark.
In terms of things that are not at the top of every tourist's Top-10 list, it depends on what you enjoy doing or seeing. For example, I really like art, so I enjoy the smaller museum, Musee Jacquemart-Andre.

Many Parisians eat dinner later than I am accustomed to eating in the US, and dinner can take longer as well, so a nice meal in a restaurant can be an evening activity.
The boat ride on the Seine is also a good suggestion, and the Vedettes du Pont Neuf mentioned above offers a discount if you purchase tickets on their website.
Discounted theater and concert tickets are available at the website billetreduc.com
You can find tickets available for last minute purchase the day of the performance. The website is in French but you may be able to figure it out even if you don't read French.
