Help me plan a Spring 2024 TRIP - Torino-Lake Orta-Venice
Soooooo, we are thinking to travel to Italy in Spring 2024. Family of 4, two adults, two boys (10 and 13).
Thinking:
Day 1 Leave Boston
Day 2 Arrive Torino
Day 3 Torino - maybe try to go to a national park
Day 4 Travel to Lake Orta
Day 5 Lake Orta
Day 6 Lake Orta
Day 7 Travel to Venice
Day 8 Venice
Day 9 Venice
Day 10 Depart?
Looking for hotels around the 200 euro range
Thoughts???

You are way too early for hotel reservatons. A somewhat serious visit of Turin takes AT LEAST A FULL DAY.
What do you mean with National parks? Only the Vauda Park (IMO not really interesting) is somewhat close to Turin. The Gran Paradiso Park needs at least 2 days, but most spectacular trails will be covered with snow in spring. Val Grande (very strenuous!), Torbiera, and Bellinzago are close to Lake Orta.

Hi there,
We just got back from three days in Turin, so we hear you! We want to go back and maybe check out the Cinema Museum (sold out when we were there), Allianz Stadium (if Juventus happens to be in town that weekend - won't know until August), and maybe go to this park: Colline di Superga https://www.alltrails.com/parks/ital...ina-di-superga.
It's a bit early for plane tickets but hotels are accepting reservations. I am just starting my planning.

I was in Torino in Nov 2022 and loved it.
I am booked for November 2023 in Paris.
I am booked for Provence for the month of March in Aix, Arles and Avignon so I definitely feel it is not to early. Actually since I always book 6-9 months out, I get my pick of accommodations (99.9% with booking.com) and track while I am there that the cost of my accommodation is almost half of what the current rate is. Book now if you are picky, focused and definite in your needs and requirements as I am.

I usually book my hotels 6-9 months out. We are a family of four, so the family rooms go quick. I've never bothered to check the prices after I book, but I've always managed to stay in really beautiful places for not a lot of money! We are going to Greece and Ischia in August and I finished all my booking in November (well, except for one night! still looking for a place in Naples for one night - we arrive from Ischia and then fly out the next morning!)

Lake Orta is lovely but small. I would echo the comments about the weather, so the later in spring you can go, the better. I would suggest staying at Hotel Bocciolo in Orta San Giulia. I only had a meal there and the food was good, but it is in a good position and a friend who stayed there really liked it.
