Help! *** Hotels in Paris with garden?(getting married!)

I am getting married in Paris in July 1999. I need a spectacular hotel with a garden at *** prices! I need at least 10 double rooms. The hotel must be charming, with a/c and in the 5th, 6th or 7th arr. Any ideas? I will, of course be asking for group rates. Any advice appreciated! Thanks. Also, any great advice for hotels near the Lascaux cave? Just need 1 room there!

Congratulations, Ann! If you will be traveling to Lascaux by car, the Moulin de la Beune in Les Eyzies-de-Tayac, and the Chateau de la Treyne in Lacave are both within an easy drive. If you stay in Les Eyzies, Font de Gaume and Rouffignac have authentic paleolithic cave art, not reproductions. Martha

The three star hotel that best meets your requirements with some air conditioned rooms (hard to find in small hotels)also charming with garden is the L'Abbaye Saint-Germain, 10 rue Cassette, Paris 75006.
Tel 01-45-44-38-11
Fax 01 43-45-07-86
I don't think you need the 01 when you call from the USA.

I presume you are aware of the French marriage regulations that require first a civil marriage in the City Hall of the town where one of you has lived for the previous 30 days. Nobody will perform a religious ceremony without the civil document. There is also several documents required for the civil marriage. You can find more info at http://www.info-france/america/consu...ndA/2_rep7.htm.

If you are serious, call the hotel immediately for rooms. There is a slim chance they might have 10 rooms available in July. You can ask for a group rate but I don't think this is available in the type of hotel requested. Most are full during the high season.

I have presumed that you are both US citizens living in the USA. However, if your future husband is already in France, this will help solve the 30 day requirment.

I am not certain the above address will work. If not, try http://www.into-france-usa.org to get the French embassy in Washinton and run a their search on marriage.

Louis,
We will already be civilly married upon arrival in France. The religious ceremony will be a "renewal of vows". Thanks for the concern though.

In case you don't find a hotel you like, I know a great garen! My best friend had her wedding reception in the Jardin des Bagatelles in the Bois de Boulogne and it was delightful. The garden is all roses. They have a restaurant:banquet hall attached. We all took taxis from the church; no big deal.
I'm sure you could have your wedding ceremony there if you wanted. Also, my friends were on a bit of a budget, so it can't be outrageously expensive, but you would never have known it. It was one of the nicest weddings I have ever attended. In any case, congratulations!
