Help for rooms in campo de' fiori area

Help! I want to stay in the Campo area (including Navona, Pantheon & parts of Trastevere) this summer but I'm having trouble finding anything decent that I can afford. I need a/c & an elevator would help (one of us is 80). Everytime I find a good possibility tripadvisor advises against it or it's booked. There are 4 of us & we would like 2 twin rooms, or a triple & a single. A quad is too much togetherness. I'd like to keep it to 200€ to 250€ per night. A B&B or an apartment would be fine too. Is this possible?

Hi M,

Is that rate per room or for two rooms?

If that 200€ to 250€ is "per room" look at: http://www.hotelrinascimento.com/homeeng.htm

If it is total price, then you either need to look at places that have mixed reviews or look at less expensive neighborhoods outside of Centro Storico. Here's a very nice place in Trastevere that will put the four of you in two rooms for 200€ to 250€ per night total.

That's total - for both rooms.

I did try Rinascimento - the total was 220€ but unfortunately they were booked. I'll try the other 2 suggestions. Thanks. Has anyone heard of Hotel Pomezia?

An apartment may be the best way to go. I recommend you go to Slowtrav.com and read all the apartment reviews. You should have no trouble getting a two or three bedroom apartment in your budget. There's one apartment building where the apartment names are colors - yellow, green, red, and blue - you'll see them in the reviews. I think they're on Via del Guibbonari.

Dear Mimmel, Try www.smeraldoroma.com (Hotel Smeraldo) 140 Euro for a double, 170 Euro for a triple in 2005. Immaculate, includes breakfast, 2 rooftop terraces, <5 min walk from the Campo. Yes, they have a lift.
Have a wonderful trip!
