Help! Aussie travelling to Spain

I have three days to travel spain and have chosen to go south. I want to visit Cordoba, Malaga & Costa Del Sol.
1/ Is this too much travelling by hire car?
2/ Are there any cheap accomodatin options in these areas?
3/ Where can I see authentic Flaminco dancing?
4/ Has anyone stayed in Assturias in Madrid, is it o.k.?

Anyone having any hints for me, I would appreciate them.

I would skip malaga and Costa del Sol and do Seville instead. Costa del Sol is very tacky and full of Brits and Germans. SEville is stunning !!!

Sue

3 days is far too short a time to see the places you have indicated.

Firstly, does the 3 days include travel from and back to Madrid?

Cordoba requires at least 1 FULL day.

There are plenty of Hostales (not Hostels) that are very reasonably priced in Spain.

Seville is the place to see Flamenco. But once again Seville needs at least 2 days to appreciate it.

Regarding driving. As you from Australia, as I am, your expertise is on RH Drive cars and driving on the LHS of the road. Unless you have done a lot of driving in Europe or the USA then I suggest you rethink this.

"Assturias" is this a Hotel/Hostale or an area of Madrid?

eMail me in you wish to.

David

Sorry Sue, but I'm with the other poster's. As an Spaniard living in Australia, I can honestly tell you that what you are thinking of attempting will only end in exhausted despair at having moved around too much.

You should totally forget the Costa del Sol - a tacky tourist trap.
Cordoba is beautiful but will take you most of the day - however this IS one beautiful place to see if you really want to.

I suggest you research Granada. You mention that you want to see some authentic flamenco dancing, and I think that if you go to Granada you will see both flamenco, and the same style of architecture as in Cordoba (two birds with one stone). Look up the "Alhambra" on the net. A beautiful moorish palace in a gorgeous town with authentic flamenco.

I would spend 1 or 2 nights in Granada and 1 day in Sevilla on your schedule.

Regards,
Ana
