It's my first time traveling abroad and alone. Oh and it's in September. 6 weeks. No budget. Just go with the flow.

What does "no budget" mean? That you haven;t thought about it? That you have unlimited funds - $20,000 or more -- and want to travel deluxe everywhere?

You are asking us to work without any info on you - so really can;t be very helpful.

At a minimum we need to know

Your age?
Your interests? (Beaches? Hiking? Museums? architecture? Fine dining? Clog dancing? flying kites?????)
Some idea of budget? (5* hotels? couchsurfing?)

I had my previous posts and all have been really helpful yet making my plans all hard to decide. I was thinking of doin. A Topdeck tour for 22 days, then I wanted to do my own, then I wanted to do a 36 days tour. I'm all over the place.

I'm 28. Love to visit awesome, cool, and amazing places. I live in Hawaii. It would be my first time traveling outside US. I am a nurse here in Hawaii. I like to eat. I like paris, Switzerland, Italy, Salzburg, Dubrovnik, Greece, Berlin, amsterdam. With all you guys amazing responses, I guess my main dilemma is making up my mind. And where to go?

Again, I'm sorry for that previous posts, I'm at work and every time someone mention vacation, europe, or trips, I get really excited and that's all I think about!

OK - we can help you cut things back to a manageable list. You say September and six weeks -- so do you mean mid August to the end of Sept, Sept to mid October or some other combo? It does make a big difference if we are talking mid August or mid October -- especially for any beachy/island destinations.

You list some cities and some whole countries. Do you want mostly cities or do you want some villages/islands/rural areas.

Don't try to bite off all of Europe -- plan as if you know you will return someday. Dashing around all over to 'see everything' just means you spend more $$$$/€€€€ and see less.

Do you have any guide books? That should be your first stop -- a good bookshop or amazon and order a book(s) covering the places you are most curious about.

We can help you refine your itinerary -- but you do need to at least come up w/ a basic framework we can work with.

Thanks. Mostly Cities. And I'm definitely will be back. I like city escape as well as country life. But I'm weighting my options. I definitely want to cross off paris, cinque terre, Amalfi coast, and Dubrovnik on my bucket list. But the idea of villages is interesting.

Books? I have Rick steves Europe. I have Top Ten: Venice, ROME, Florence/Tuscany, paris, and London.

Date: it seems tho that I will be starting in mid August. I'm celebrating my birthday hopeful somewhere awesome.

If it is early September have a serious look at the Yugoslavian cost (google maps is the place to start) You will see a bunch of islands and the lines drawn by ferries and little ports sticking out on spits of land.

I'd start by trying to do 2 of your weeks working your way down the coast stopping off at Dubrovnik, but also Trogir, Hvar or Braj, Split etc. Basically these are all ex Venetian Republic colonies with bits of ancient Rome in theor centre. If you end up in Venice so much the better and you will have seen some of the most ancient parts of Europe before you start to hit the headlines of Paris/London etc when the weather has got a bit colder and you need the protection of the cities.
