I like the first option. The only thing I would change is to go to Copenhagen on the 30th. If you arrive on the 31st, you may be too tired to stay up for New Year's Eve. And do consider going to Tivoli for New Year's Eve, because it's less likely to be rowdy there, and they're supposed to have great fireworks.

I'm not sure I mentioned the Christmas Village in Hyde Parkin London. My granddaughter enjoyed it. There were others, but that one happened to be convenient and not overly expensive, if you put a limit on the number of rides.

If you want to go to Tivoli you HAVE to go on Dec 31 because it is the last day before they close for the winter. No chance to get in on Jan 1. So you should arrive there on Dec 30.

So you will practically have one single full day in the destination between Paris and Copenhagen. That would be okay for Amsterdam, though rushed. But not for Italy (where in Italy?) - leave that for another trip.

A "neck thing" is, by the way, good for men but very very uncomfortable for women, for anatomical reasons.

Those cities are great!

Lay out your trip a little differently because putting the same day in two places makes it feel as if you have more time there than you really do. Seeing it like that on paper is makes it easy to ignore how much travel time will take away from real sight seeing time. Allow time to get from hotel to train station, train time, time to get to next hotel. Takes a bit more time with a child, and of course it will be dark earlier at your next destination.

Dec. 21, arrive London. Coming from Copenhagen? What time? How much time will you really have? Probably very little.

You can buy inexpensive neck pouches - yep, a pouch with a leather cord securely attached - or you can make one very simply out of a cotton napkin. Add a length of Velcro on the flap to keep it closed, and you're good to go. Here's an example:

You don't have to load the pouch down with everything you own, and if you make the leather cord long enough, it will sit just fine somewhere above your bellybutton, so you can reach it easily.
You'll be wearing winter clothing, so nothing will show.

It would be a very good idea to have your child wear a similar pouch with a reduced copy of her passport and your personal contact information - including where you're staying in each city - just in case.

London is much larger than Paris, and it will take more time to get around to see things. If London is more important, I'd subtract one day from Paris. Most of the sights in Paris are fairly close together.

Ok so which areas in each of these cities should I stay? Amsterdam and Copenhagen seems kind of expensive lol.. I was thinking near the st pancras area since it was near some things I wanted to do

What's your budget? In euros/pounds? That will help you get more helpful suggestions.

In Paris, I'd suggest the Latin Quarter - Postal Codes 75005,75006.
This is the area most people think of when they imagine what Paris is like. Transportation options are excellent, and you can walk to most of the attractions from this area, including Luxembourg gardens.

In London, I stay in either OneAldwych during the New Year so I can see fireworks from my window and use the swimming pool, or the Rembrandt Hotel.
If you check the SNCF website, there are often good special prices if you choose the "train + hotel" option. I'd make sure to check the addresses - some of the hotels aren't in very convenient locations.

Only if you have a boat load of £££ The cheapest room at One Aldwych for the OP's dates is £365 a night and that is pre-paid, non-refundable. Cheapest refundable rate is £420-£460. (over new years like suggested - the rates are £100 more)

Not sure what you plan near St Pancras -- it is only close to the British Library and Kings Cross/platform 9 3/4 - and an OK but longish walk from the British Museum

I don't reall wanna spend more than 1k for hotels.. Excluding the None europe hotels so like 75 a night but if I can get decent and cheaper I'm happy with that too of course.. Paris and London seemed affordable it's those other 2 that seemed expensive but depending where to stay..

Ok, so it wasn't just me thinking it! Even a private hostel room is going to cost you at least 80 euros. I don't think 75 USD would even cover 2 DORM beds, and I definitely hope that's not CAD. And I thought you mentioned up thread that you wanted a hotel room on NYE that overlooked fireworks? Maybe that was in another thread...

But, nevertheless, I know that Paris made NYC look cheap. If there were private rooms to be had at that price (or even twice that price), I wouldn't have been looking at hostels in the first place, lol. And that's not accounting for price jumps on the holidays!

I've seen hotels around that much, I just need to know areas to stay.. I got NYC hotel for 100 and that's time square.. Also this is the same thread I did say I want a hotel near the fireworks and I had found one 1-2 miles away in Berlin when I first looked.. It was a nice one too for like 60 bucks.. I don't know if y'all ever used lmtclub.com or not but u can find some really really good deals.. Sometimes u are paying half the price... London and Paris have a lot more options than Amsterdam and and Copenhagen.. But I'm pretty sure I will be okay just let me know areas..

For your exact holiday dates though? I wouldn't think many hotels have reason to sell those dates to a discount travel site...

And I'm rather curious about reviews of said hotels. Anything I'd seen similar for NYC had serious downsides and that's at after the holiday season prices

It is a world wide organization called women welcome women. It is expressly for women to welcome other women who are traveling into their home. It is a way for women to meet other women from different parts of the world. Some only allow another single woman, but some allow a spouse or child. They prefer the child to be the same sex, so it would be easier for you to be accepted as a guest. They do not charge, but expect you to buy a small gift And probably your own food. I have not done it, but learned about it several years ago when it was new. Now they have hundreds of women who are members.

MIJE is very close to the Seine, in the Marais

The OP wants to pay $75 per night or less . . . ain't gonna get a One Aldwych broom closet for that. And €100 = $110. So do you have suggestions places that fit in her budget?

BTW - I would never want to stay in shared bath accommodations w/ a small child.

That sounds pretty far fetched -- I would be very <B>VERY</B> worried about any Manhattan hotel @$100 over the holidays. That is cheap even for Long Island City.

The Latin Quarter one is probably closest. But that's still around 90-ish USD before tax, I think. that's assuming quintagg is talking USD which doesn't seem likely. 100 euro=144 cad. You can't stay in a shared dorm with a kid that young, unfortunately. If the shared restrooms were single use, I wouldn't hesitate, but you never know until you arrive, so I'm going to agree with Janisj on that one.

Fuzzbucket- have you stayed at MIJE, out of curiousity? I hadn't ran across that one before and the reviews are mixed...but the location looks great and the single room price is a steal.
