Hello from Montreux

Bonjour, I am writing from my hotel in Montreux right now (in bed in fact!), the Eden au Lac. Does anyone know if the Chillon Castle is walkable from here? We are thinking of hoofing over there tomorrow morning.

Bonjour--or is it Bonsoir? I'm not sure where your hotel is, but we walked from the Chateau du Chillon back to Montreux along the lakeside promenade. It was very pleasant.

Hi jenblase,

I must've done that walk about one or two dozen times -- one of my favorites. It'll take about an hour.

We were able to walk from the castle to our hotel (Royal Plaza at the lakeside) with our two children, ages 5 and 9. We took the bus (was it #1?) on our way to the castle.

We stayed at that hotel and we walked it. Infact, it was a lovely walk. Recommend doing it early as we got there before anyone else and had the entire castle to ourselves. Very magical.

Sorry, I'm late seeing your post, but yes you can walk to Chillon from the center of Montreux. Lucky you!
