Heathrow to Euston Station--best wa

We're leaving for London this afternoon for the first time in 10years. What's the best, reasonably comfortable way to get from Heathrow to Euston Station? How much is a taxi?

Thanks,

Joe

A taxi will cost a FORTUNE.

Most comfortable is a car service like justairports.com but it might be a bit late since you leave today. Give them a try.

Otherwise, take the tube to Kings Cross and then the tube or walk the few blocks to Euston.

Having stayed at hotels near the airport and taken the tube into London proper far too many times, the tube is very slow, and seems to make endless stops.

You will also have to figure out your luggage and where to put it. Depending on the stop, the doors open from either side, so picking a spot away from the entrance is best.

If you arrive in the morning, you probably will hit commuter traffice on the tube, which makes your luggage that much more to take on board.

I wouldn't attempt the tube plus a walk with luggage in the current heatwave conditions. Follow Janis's advice and get a pre-bookd car if at all possible.

Is there a direct train/tube from Heathrow to London?

Assuming you have a manageable amount of luggage, this is how I'd do it and have. Your tube journey will start at Heathrow and few on the trains so room for you and your luggage. No changes, get off at King's Cross and an easy walk to Euston. Easier, I think, to walk than change trains with bags. Even if it's hot, just take it easy.

Yes - that is why I suggested it. There is only one tube line serving LHR so you can't get on the wrong train. Get on at LHR, get off at King's Cross.
