Heathrow Express free over Memorial Day

I just saw an article in the LA Times that said that the Heathrow Express to and from London is free over Memorial Day weekend (May 26-28) to encourage visitors. To get the free passage, you have to download a voucher from www.heathrowexpress.co.uk/specialoffers/usa and present it with passport at the ticket office at Heathrow or at Paddington train station. Hope someone can use this info.

Do you need advance reservations for the Express or do you think it's safer to have reservations on the day that the strike is threatened?

The trains run every 15 minutes from 5am till 11:45 pm, so in that respect it is more like a subway. You don't need reservations. I haven't been paying attention to the strike, so can't answer you on that.

I can definitely use this info. I leave London on May 27, from Heathrow. That's an extra souvenir I can pick up. Thank you!!
