Heathrow and beyond hotel query

Sorry, this comes up a lot. I have done a seach. I thought new imput would be helpful for me.

I've had immediate success with Priceline 6 times, 3 in Central London. But it doesn't want to give me a 4* Heathrow hotel and I've been at it a week, trying with same prices I've gotten 4* Central London: approx. 90 dollars, taxes inclusive. This is mid week. I have until early May, but it's getting to me, bidding over and over.

Got me thinking, maybe I'd like some fresh air anyway. I land at 1:00 pm and take off the next day at 12:30 pm, both T3.

Online I've seen a lot of sites with B & B's along Picadilly line, or in Richmond and vicinity. Nothing looks value for money like Priceline.

But then the afternoon fresh air would be nice before the long flight to West Coast USA and it doesn't look like there's anywhere to walk at the airport hotels.

I was wondering what hotels or B & B's near Heathrow Fodorites have used? My budget is supposedly low, but I can be tempted! Any thoughts? Thanks!

Why not look in the other direction, around Windsor?

This past Fall we got one of the Sheratons at Heathrow and it cost about $120 per night taxes/fees included.

Patrick, the reason I haven't looked into Windsor is because I understand you need to take two buses there and they are infrequent. Maybe this information is wrong and I need to go to the national express site? Cab fares seemed to be about 20 pounds each way.
