Our last trip to Paris this pas November we ate at Lucas Carton and Le Grand Vefour. Of the two, Le Grand Vefour wins hands down. The decor, the history and the food were great. The service was especially good and the prices 'not bad' for a three star Michelin restaurant. We were made to feel very comfortable there. Lucas Carton treated us like the tourists that we are, not the best seats and while the food was good, the prices were much higher. Le Grand Vefour was a much better dining experience.

I travel to Paris about once a year and have eaten at two haute cuisine restaurants: Tour d'Argent and Guy Savoy. Tour d'Argent obviously had an unforgettable view. The food was certainly good but paled in comparison to Guy Savoy. Guy Savoy seemed a bit less pretentious and the waiters were quite friendly and not the least bit snooty at all. The food? Only to die for..... I'm a vegetarian, and to be quite honest, I'm not quite sure what I ate! But I know it wasn't meat. Btw, I ate there last June. I'll be back in Paris in March but with children in tow, so I think we'll stick to more "cuisine" like Hippopotamus.

Ron; The Grand Cascade is lovely, expensive but the food, very good and a great way to spend the time before(at lunch) in the Bois.
