I think m kingdom really laughs at us laughing at her.
Lets face it anyone who thinks they should be part of the royal family, belittles everyone and has someone in to pack her suitcases is a real joker.
The trip report to Prague was inacurate I reckon she made it up..lol
But ultimately anyone dull enough to consider that higher bills are a status symbol deserves all they get.

"My dear, people who ask such ridiculous questions such as "will there be a terrorist attack when I'm on holiday?", "am I allowed to wear white trousers in Paris?" etcetera deserve to be treated with contempt". My dear, this seems to say that your contempt is for the person who asked the question rather than for the question. In any case, it is the person, not the question, who will feel the sting of your contempt.

Higher bills come with more expensive stuff. Most people who think it's a waste of money to stay in 5 star properties etc. can't afford it.Instead of acknowledging that, they trash people who speak about there 5 star experiences.

Ok I quote from your trip report-
"I went on a coach (a minibus) trip to Karlovy Vary - a spectacular looking castle perched on atop an hill. Sadly, the interior is empty of the vast majority of orginal furniture, so walking around it conveys very little indeed. Unlike the UK, where historic building largely remain complete with their contents, Prague's historics homes/castles are distinctly lacking in atmosphere. I wouldn't waste our time with that daytrip"
Isn't it a Spa town ??
What type of cup did you use?
Did you mean Karlstejn ? (Which has furniture).
I long to see your pictures please do pay someone to add them to the web.

Since it escaped some people, Topman's "p_____g" contest referred to me and m_kingdom.
And Tallulah, there's a major point you're missing. I too think the tongue in cheeck comments are funny. And that over the top Prague report bordered on the hilarious, knowing that no one could take two-thirds of it seriously. I enjoy those posts of m_kingdom's as well for the entertainment value they offer.
My only "p_____g" contest (to quote TopMan) comes about when one poster totally insults other posters directly. Such comments as telling a person who wants to take the tube to the Ritz, that she has no class and if she can't afford to arrive in a taxi then she'll embarrass herself as the totally classless person she is, for example. Or calling people idiots because they are classless Americans and don't speak the Queen's English, for another. There really is no need for that type of behavior here! And I take offense when comments are made about places as if they were sincere. I still quiver at the thought of someone following the advice to walk into J. Sheekey's and expecting to order take-a-way fish and chips wrapped in newsprint.

Oh, and by the record, I don't call this thread "fighting" as earl may have called it. I call this a discussion and difference of opinions. I still see nothing wrong with that. I really do agree with m_kingdom that we "need to agree to disagree". We do.

The 'fighting' on this board is of a much higher quality than on other boards, where posters resort to rude/profane language, nasty name-calling and threats with bodily harm.
It takes a certain skill to be sarcastic in an entertaining way.
Of course, first-time visitors may be totally ambushed but if they stick it out, they'll learn whose comments to disregard.

Hang on Patrick! I couldn't agree with you more - there's a world of difference between a bit of banter - which is the bit I love - and outright snobbery and throwing of insults. I have travelled extensively - ON A VERY TIGHT BUDGET!! - and am more than happy to offer advice where I can.
But I reserve the right to tell someone they've asked a ridiculous question or have shown desperate ignorance that verges on insulting to others!! It may only be my opinion but I stand by it!
On that note, I hope that everyone has a lovely weekend!
