Has anyone traveld the Catacombs of Paris without a guide?

I'm interested in checking out the REAL underground catacombs of Paris during my stay in Dec/Jan. I would like to embark on some photojournalist work exploring the areas off the guided touristy catacomb tour . I know that it is illegal and if I'm caught it will be a fine of around $100. I'm fine with that.

From what I have read, it's fascinating and not uncommon to explore off the guided path. I was able to find a site with a very detailed maps showing most the pathways and landmarks( http://www.catacombs.explographies.com/) . I'm fairly confident after researching blogs (http://www.zoriah.net/blog/2009/02/catacombs-of-paris-the-real-french-underground.html) and others that have posted going with cataphiles as guides, that I could explore alone bringing the essential items (headlamp, boots, food and possibly sleeping gear)

However, I am about 5'5 and weigh about 110, so maybe I'm not being so wise in considering what could go wrong. It's also fairly difficult to find these Cataphile forums.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to maybe find other people that may be interested in doing the same thing or a real cataphile forum to try to find a guide?

Any suggestions and tips or ruins that I should not miss while there?
