Has anyone had experience with CRX (Car Rental Express)?

I ask the question because their rates (all-inclusive) are about $100 cheaper than AutoEurope for a 20 day rental. The potential disadvantage is that the pick-up and the drop-off location must be the same. The rates are about $150 cheaper than the lowest rate for a Peugeot lease (206 1.1 gas engine, no air).

Hi M,

Have you called autoeurope to see if they will meet the CRX price?

Ira--I haven't called them yet, but I must say that they do not always meet the price. I am still considering Thrifty for travels in Hungary and Romania because they are so much cheaper. Still, it does not hurt to try.

I have pretty much always used Auto Europe, but when making my fall reservations I ran into CRX and asked for a quote. It was considerably lower than Auto Europe. Auto Europe has a written policy of meeting others...sooo, I gave it a try. They then responded that it would have to go to another department...they came back with the lower price.

gracejoan--since CRX gives prices in euros and AutoEurope in dollars, how did you establish the exchange?

Auto Europe had no problem in comparing the prices in Euros...I asked what exchange rate they were using..I have no problem in comparing in either $'s or euros, either.

Auto Europe just sent me an e-mail with some discounts etc...I called to see if the price was lower than what I have....no, it was not, and they doubted that there would be a lower one as I had been given the much loweer price to "better" the CRX price.
